    Windows XP Home.
I've tried to remove it with TweakUI for XP but it does not work. Anyone know a regedit or some other way to get rid of it?

    Thanks.

Dennis L - have you tried it with IE? May be an issue with Firefox.

Same problem with that link here Pete, the "˜random’ one works fine.

I found that program anyway but it’s only a demo - I’ve spent my allowance on software this month. The tweaks I need seem to be available and I’ll give them a go when the machines not so busy and I can do the required logoff/reboot.

    This issue occurs in ..
    Firefox 1.0.7
    IE6 - all updates
    Opera 8.5 - build 7700
Ares - Open source P2P which includes a built-in browser.
mP9 Surfer 3.0 - I'm not sure if this rides on top of IE6. Program requirements do NOT say it is required. But does require Microsoft OS be installed.

May be some sort of strange permissions thing since Pete & I can get to it just fine and non-staff apparently can't. I'll give Arie a heads up and see if he can figure out what is happening.

The Tweaking Toolbox XP Beta forum is NOT open to general public.

Only to people who signed up for the beta, and by the nature of the software, for the Staff members.

Well that tool did the trick Pete and got rid of the Log Off button.

I tracked the registry changes to see what it did and found the modifications. I also noticed it seemed to make unrelated changes, so went back to the start on my XP clones and tracked the whole sequence to see what was going on. It appears that just installing the program adds many keys/values to the registry in preparation for being able to tweak things. Not that many really, ART told me 64 new additions and changes, which of course many will simply be related to the program install.

The relevant key for the LogOff button is
    HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-73586283-839522115-854245398-1004\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
and this is what it looked like before the install of the Tweaking Toolbox Program ScreenShot
After just installing the program it looked like this ScreenShot
And after doing the LogOff tweak it was like this ScreenShot

As you can see just installing the program added two Dword entries and changed the NoLogOff value from Binary to Dword. Doing the LogOff tweak added two more entries and changed the value of NoLogOff from 0 to 1.

I found that just adding the two Dwords entries for NoLogOff and StartMenuLogOff is all it took to do the job in one of my other XP clones.

I’m just curious if any registry expert knows if the three seemingly extra Dword entries, all with zero values, are have as I suspect only been put there in preparation for the program to modify them when you ask for that tweak?
