I was tweaking security settings on a laptop and decided to disable my unique name administrator account (had no other accounts enabled) believing my default admin account remained. However, rebooting led me to the log in window and the request for a log in name and password. Trying Administrator, the computer name, and all the combinations I can think of, doesn't get me back into my system (never created a password). The only possible reason for this problem I can think of has to be that I gave my default admin account the unique name and when I disabled that name, I inadvertently disabled my default admin account.

Is there any way I can use my 2000 installation cd to correct/repair the problem, or is there some other method to access my system?

jfdgr--Never ran Win2000 so do not know if this works.

Start|Run|type control userpasswords2|OK. If it works you will get a window that may help.

If that does not work, search Google.
