My PC at work runs on Windows 2000 Professional.
To start it, I use my user name and password to Log On to the network, and this works fine. However, if I choose to Log On to "this computer" instead of to the LAN, and try the same user name and password as for the LAN, it doesn’t work. So I just Log On to the LAN, and get to work.

I would like to have the ScreenSaver so that it requires a password to resume operation. The problem is that when I select "Password protected" from the ScreenSaver setup screen, it doesn’t prompt for a password, and I am afraid that there might be one already. Anyway, I immediately access the ScreenSaver setup screen again, and remove the password protection.

How can I set the password for the screen saver so I know what it is?

    Thanks

    Alex

    1) In most work environments, your computer recieves a policy at startup that does not allow logging on locally ( "this computer ") for security reasons. Only one that can log onto "this computer" is an administrator account. This policy is setup by your network administrator and deployed to all machines at your worksite.

    2) Password for screensaver lock will be same as the person logged onto that windows session. In other words if it is you, then whatever username and password you logged on with to start windows, will unlock the screensaver.
