Ok I finally got things transferred over to Outlook but two things are happening.
One, everytime I open NS brower my email page opens too. How do I stop this from happening and I also noticed that even though Outlook picked up my incoming emails ok, when My NS email page comes up and I click get messages, the same messages that I have all ready seen in Outook are there too. Which means , I think, if I never check my emails again on NS they will just be there taking up vauable space. What to do?
    Thanks for the help

    waterflea,

In your Edit | Preferences | Appearance
Disable the "When Netscape starts up, open - Mail & Newsgroups "

Also right click the Desktop Shortcut, and click on the "Shortcut" tab. Is there a -mail at the end of the Target line? If so delete the -mail.

If you no longer want the Mail in the Netscape Mail Account Folder, then with Netscape open, Delete the messages. Next, empty the Trash folder, and then Compact the folders. These edit functions are in the Edit drop down menu in Mail & Newsgroups.

Have you enabled IE as the default browser? If not you should do so, and then ensure that you have "disabled" Netscape as the default browser. In Netscape that setting is in: Edit | Preferences | Navigator

In Internet Explorer that setting is in Control Panel | Internet Options
Click on the "Programs" tab and at the bottom of the window, insert a tick beside: Internet Explorer should check to see if it is the default browser.

Also, mail will not be downloaded by NS7.2 unless you have saved the password(s). All you need to do to stop this, if you have saved passwords is go to your Preferences|Privacy|View Passwords|delete passwords related to your e-mail account. Besides, you should not have to worry about this, if you follow Ramona's directions.
I would not mind to get mail in two places, it is a built-in backup, but if you have limited hard drive space, it is a different story.

    Thanks

I think this works. I will keep that backup mail just in case and try to remember to delete it once a week or so. I plan to stay with my NS brower, just use Outlook to recieve mail.
