When (via either My Computer or the shortcut I placed on the desktop) I open my Local Disk its status bar tells me that it contains 27 items plus 6 hidden - but none of the items are visible! Exactly the same thing occurs with my Control Panel. Nor can I any longer access the Search option For Files or Folders via the Search option on the Start menu, nor drag and drop files between folders on the desktop. I did recently use a program called Startup Inspector For Windows - could any changes I made using this have generated these problems ? Any ideas anyone ?

Have you tried restore? I am assuming you are using Windows XP.

I'm using Windows ME and I can't get System Restore to run either at the moment.
