After loading Adobe Photoshop 6.0 or 7.0 upgrade on a Dell 530 workstation running Windows 2000 with Service Pack 2, the first file will open but trying to open the second one results in the machine locking. Our company IT tech has called Adobe but, over the phone, they were unable to determine the problem.

Photoshop 4.0 and the 6.0 upgrade worked fine with my old machine; a Dell 420 workstation with Windows 98. Is Windows 2000 the problem? Our company "flatlines" computers when they come in, then do a company reload. Does this cause problems?

External USB devices include a Microtech firewire CameraMate, an HP ScanJet scanner, and Epson Stylus Photo 1200 and 2000P printers.

    Any suggestions? Thanks!

Did support try renaming the MMXCore and FastCore plug-ins in the Extensions folder to MMXCore.old and FastCore.old? See also 326159 322406
