I just installed Office 2003 on my boss's laptop. Each time I open Outlook, it comes up with a screen entitled "MS LDAP Directory" with the following information: server name = NULL, port = 3268, user name = NULL. All I have to do is click OK, and it goes away, but it is a nag because you can't do anything else until you answer it. I'd like to eliminate this popup every time you open Outlook. Is there something I need to enter in those fields for it to be satisfied and silent?

FYI, I have put three ISP accounts on there, and outlook works fine. I just don't know what the LDAP Directory is and how to disable it the nag.

    Anyone help with this?

NULL means empty/blank...Double check all three accounts and make sure fields server name and user name are filled in..

Are you using Exchange server and or active directory on the server?

Steve, there is no "server" per se, no Exchange, no server that this laptop is associated with, and don't know about Active Directory -- dont' know what it is. Just the laptop and 3 emails.

All three accounts are filled out completely - don't think that's the problem. I searched google for LDAP directory, and found someone with the same problem after installing 2003.

This person found that the directory can be removed. Tools>mail accounts> -- instead of radio clicking on "view or change existing email accounts," go to directories below that -- >view or change existing directories>next>remove.

It worked, and I'm no longer dealing with the nag screen. Admittedly, I have not yet imported the pst files for this account. We'll see what happens when we get there ...
