How do I delete email addresses from Netscape 7.2?

How do I delete email addresses from my address book? I use Netscape 7.2.

I have clicked on the address book, clicked on "Edit" at the bottom but saw no "Delete" anywhere. There's a "Remove" tab on the right of the address book but I don't know what it's for. And I even can't click on it to find that out because it's shady or grayish - whatever you call it.

I believe I have more than 6,000 email addresses, the count based on the kind of emails I have been sending out for months, and I don't need them. And they seem to be slowing down my computer when I send out email.

I want to clear the whole book and need some help.

    Thanks.

    Barbs,

You need to go to the main Address Book window. Within Netscape, click on the "Window" tab at the top of the page, and select "Address Book ".

If you wish to clear the contents of the entire Address Book, then highlight all addresses in the right pane, right click and select "delete ", or click on the "Delete" button at the top of the Address Book.

If you don't wish to collect the addresses, then you can stop that by opening:
    Edit | Preferences | Mail & Newsgroups | Addressing
Disable the setting for: Email Address Collection
Add email addresses to my: Personal Address Book

Thank you very much, Ramona. I got everything right.

Once again, thanks so much for such a wonderful job and I'm going to save all this for future reference.

    Best regards,

    Barbs
