When I click on a link that redirects to a new window in IE, the window opens, but I get no text - it seems to be blocked. This is handy if the pop-up window is an ad, but sometimes I WANT to see the redirect and I am completely stumped as to why this is happening.

I have checked all my security settings and can find absolutely no reason for this. I've also disabled the firewall, and tried viewing that way, but the problem remains, so it's obviously not the firewall.

    HELP! This is really inconvenient.

I don't know whether or not this problem is related, but I also am unable to get IE to open a window when clicking on a link in Outlook Express. It "tries" to open, but doesn't show.......

    Ah, the joys of upgrading!

Any assistance would be hugely appreciated!

The solution is quite simple (and it doesn't require a reinstallation); we just need to re-register the URL monitor. Heck, if you're having any kind of hyperlink hassle, give this a whirl. When software doesn't behave, sometimes you have to spank it. Click on Start | Run and enter: "REGSVR32 URLMON.DLL" (sans quotes). You should then have a dialog tell you that the procedure was completed. Next, fire up Microsoft's Web Browser (IE) and Click Tools | Internet Options | Programs | then click the "Reset Web Settings" button. Now, check to see if Web links work like they should in your e-mail client. With any luck, you'll have returned your system to normal.

    Thanks!

Thank you very much! That took care of the Outlook Express problem as well. Terrific!
