 Windows sees card reader as a hard drive in "Device Manager" and Properties says Working ok, also sees it in "Sandra ",
but it is not showing in "My Computer" window as a removable drive
or in Control Panel/Scanners & Cameras,
so I can't move pictures to PC from card reader.

Running WindowsXP Pro & USB2 from m/board to hub in case.

Card reader works ok on an WinME PC.

    Ideas anybody please..............Robin..

The Card-reader should show as a USB mass storage device in My Computer it also is showing as that in your Task bar when connected in the little icon "Safely Remove Hardware" If you have SP2 installed Windows should install the drivers for it automatically the first time you plug it in, what is your Reader USB 1 or 2.
In the Device Manager it should show up as a USB Flash Drive if that is the type of Reader you have.

    1. Did it previously work ? Or has it never worked?

    2. Is the camera on and in the correct setting?

    3. Did you remember to "safely remove hardware" or "eject" the disk before you disconnected it last time you used it if it has worked in the past?

My suggestion would be to uninstall all related software, remove it in device manager, reboot and do a clean install of the software and connect it and let it be redetected and drivers loaded.
