    Greetings!

I just upgraded my computer’s memory from 512 megs to 2 Gigs, and WOW!, I can’t believe the speed increase! I should have done this a long time ago.

My question is; now that I have so much RAM how can I maximize and optimize my system’s performance? I run FreeRAM XP Pro and most of the time it reports I have 1450k (or more) RAM free (even when I'm running 4 or 5 applications). Is there a way to load more shtuff into RAM to help speed up the system? Should I disable virtual memory?

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

Disabling virt mem is generally not a good idea. Many apps look for it regardless how much ram is installed.

Might spend a few hours reading through www.tweakxp.com

By using FreeRAM you are forcing windows to give up RAM and move things to swap file; this actually slows your system. Uninstall this unnecessary program. After all, with all that RAM available, why would you want to keep it empty and unused?
