    Dear Sirs,

I have noticed a difference in one of my XP Pro Machines..When I run secpol.msc from the run line this brings up the Local Security setting box. I then go to local Policies then Security options. This is the problem at this point. When I click on Security options the right pane only has 6 options in it. My other machines have a full load of options right off the page practically. I am not sure what happened but if anyone can help me get them back I would be greatfull!! Thanks for your time and have a great day!!

    JJ

    :)

Are both machines the same version (pro - home) and are you logged in as admin on both machines?

    guessing but ...

from secpol, try action/import policy and choose the default 'setup security.inf'

before u do anything tho, read here cuz i did no checking/research above ;)

    XP Predefined security templates

scratch above re: action/import i think. the article explains that it does not restore default perms etc. ... the read is good tho.
