    Hello everyone,
Whenever I open a javascript link that pops another window, the page is loaded and the window immediatly closes. I've got the latest download from www.java.com, and I'm using it on Mozilla 1.4 and Firefox (also tried with IE 6 and the same thing happens).

I've checked my browser settings for java and didn't notice anything peculiar. Has anyone else noticed this?

Tried with both settings, but that shouldn't matter as you're making a javascript call from the trusted page. Still have the same issue, with all three browsers. Thanks for the quick response, though!

I've disabled ZA to no avail. Even disabled Norton Auto Protect.

First, you really should upgrade to the latest version of mozilla. There was a rather serious vulnerability patched in the latest release, and by running an older one you are leaving yourself wide open.

I would still suspect that it is a popup blocker issue. Most popups use a very similar script to open new windows and the popup blocker works by recognizing and blocking a portion of the script. This will block any use of similar scripts, as well as meaning that if an abnormal non standard method is used, the popup will not be blocked.

Thanks Pete, but I've already tried allowing pop ups, which didn't solve the problem. The window comes up, the content loads, then the window disappears.

Lightstorm--Just a stab in the dark. Put the site from which you are accessing the javascript link into your Trusted Sites. (Uncheck "Require server verification... ") Then try to open the javascript link. Any luck?
