    Hi Guys,
can anyone tell me why (occassionaly) when I D/L a jpg it wants to "Sava Picture As" an "untitled.bmp "

There seems to be no common thread - it seems to be random.

    Any ideas?

    Den

It's a known issue and can usually be cured by emptying IE's cache (Tools>Internet Options>General tab>Delete files button).

Just another reason to switch to a browser other than IE. I've been happy with Firefox and its previous incarnations (Phoenix, Firebird) for 2 1/2 years, with few complaints.

To paraphrase the Energizer Bunny's slogan, "It just keeps getting better and better ".

ALTERNATIVES to Save a JPG file (when IE only provides the BMP format).
    Option 1 :)
Save the JPG at the source-link level. For example, if there is a thumbnail preview, (instead of clicking on it to see the full picture in the next page) - right-click on the thumbnail and at the popup menu, select "Save Target As.. ".

    Option 2 ;)
Use tools like "CaptureXP" or "Dagwin PrintScreen" to capture the image. The latter utility has better preferences/options which a user can predifine.
