    Hello,

Just recently the sound on my computer started cutting in then out. One speaker would cut out then the other. The problem is the speakers were still working as you could feel the vibrations. I was just wondering if this could be a sound card problem or a conflict with a program on the computer (Kazaa Pro). I don't know if this is the right place to ask this question but any help is appreciated. The sound also appears to cut out especially while using Kazaa.

    Thanks

It would help to have some hardware information along with your Operating system
Everest is a great program for you to get the info.

If I understand correctly, you say that sometimes one channel works, sometimes the other, and sometimes both and sometimes neither?

I would try a cheap pair of speakers to rule out your speakers as the cause (Perhaps they have too much impedance for your sound card or perhaps they are blown and thus overload it).

It is possible for a software conflict to cause sound card problems, and I do not like KaZaA due to thier history of installing spyware etc on your computer and opening you to trojan and worms via P2P . But that is your choice and responsibility, make sure to keep your scanners up to date and use them.

You could always try uninstalling the suspect program and see if that helps, but KaZaA has a nasty habit of leaving behind bits so you need a removal tool called kazaabegone. But there is a problem there. When removed, kazaa can disable your internet connection.

Thus you probably should post a hijackthis log file and ask for advice prior to attempting to remove KaZaA if you want to be able to go online after you do.

I had that happen on a system hooked to my entertainment system. After pulling my hair out I discovered that the extension audio cable I had had gone bad. Something easy to check. Reseat or wiggle the cord...
