This is quite hard to explain, but i'll try my best
I am using WMP 10 to store my MP3 and WMA collection. However when i sort the songs in order of artist it ignores the prefix "The ".

    e.g.
"The Doors" is displayed with other artists beginning with D instead of T

Is there anyway to stop this so that it is sorted with other artists beginning with T?

I hope i explained that clearly enough

    Thanks

    Alex

ok, i couldn't copy/paste this, but here it goes,

the word "the" is used as a function word before a noun or substantivized adjective to indicate reference to a group as a whole (eg) "the elite "

maybe the software in that program doesn't reconize the word "the ".. as a name...??

examine u'r tags - maybe advanced mode? - as my lib will sort proper w/ The as long as it's really there. see the artist tab and note the placement of words there. given u'r sort criteria of 'artist' that is. eg - what u 'see' isn't what u really have

addition - find a song that's 'wrong' and rclik/advanced_tag_editor and look/change - when u see setup here, u'll get the picture

In English it is probably ignoreing the 'The' as it dosen't consider it a true part of the name but looks at it as descriptive. You might try changeing 'the' to 'the.'.
