Outlook 2002 - My customer uses Outlook at work, and I believe Exchange server. She receives 40-50 e-mails per day. She deletes many that are not needed to keep, and empties the 'deleted items' folder. All seems well until maybe 3-4 weeks or so later, and then all those apparently deleted messages show up in her inbox again. I've looked at all the appropriate (or so I think) settings and can see nothing that should be causing this to happen. It's becoming very frustrating for her. Can anyone shed any light on this? Thanks in advance!!

Sounds like a glitch in the Exchange Server that needs fixing by the Exchange admin. In that case, nothing she can do from her PC will make any difference.

There's an option in the account set up to NOT leave mail on the server...

    Re-appearing E-mails

Thanks Newt. She says her admin people have 'checked everything', whatever THAT means, but like you, I also think it's something server-related. I'll mention to her to have them check again, but question then, if it was/is server based, would not more than one person potentially have the same problem?

Steve, I'll have her double-check that setting also. Thanks.

I think Steve's idea is likely to be the solution but I have seen strange happenings when one or a few Exchange accounts get messed up.
