i get the following error message whenever i try rightclicking a folder to get up the little menu:

"unable to create an instance of required object: serveradmin "

then the windows explorer shuts down and restarts itself
(strangely, leaving all programs still running and even the explorer web browser still running), the same happens over and over again.

anyone know how to fix this?

It depends. Do you have Homesite or ColdFusion shell extensions installed?

If you have Cfshellftprds.dll and/or Cfssvradmin.dll, try unregistering them using Start > Run...

    regsvr32.exe /u CfShellFtpRds.dll
    regsvr32.exe /u cfssvradmin.dll

and then rename them (even if unregistering results in an error).

Unixfan - see this. It would appear that the installation of either application can result in a message similar to that which svendelux is encountering but which is suffixed with "FileProxy" rather than "ServerAdmin ".

I wonder, therefore, whether renaming the .DLL's which you mention is likely to resolve the issue?

Ok. I've done a seach on this error an could find only one reference which appeared to maybe be useful. Alas, that reference was written in Russian

I posted the link to the Agnitum (a Russian sotware company) Forums and ... well ... you can see the response here.

    Not wonderful news, I'm afraid.

Maybe you should keep an eye on that thread (as well as this one) to see whether anything worthwhile is posted.

For now, I'm out of ideas :(
