    xp- home sp1
    FF 1.0.7 = Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.12) Gecko/20050915 Firefox/1.0.7
    Mozilla - all released versions
    Seamonkey = Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8b4) Gecko/20050910 SeaMonkey/1.0a

    Read mail & New message

If in FF - any Moz version set a default mail program - FF calls up the program that is set as "Default mail program "

If in FF - with "Seamonkey" set as default mail program, I get alert

"SEAMON~1.EXE has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. "

"Please tell M$ about about this problem" - there is a small Seamonkey icon in the corner of the alert.

Is this an alert from "seamonkey" or M$ ?

    Does anyone experience this ?

    TIA

Same version of FF as yours. However, I am using a recent nightly for SM
    Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9a1) Gecko/20051005 SeaMonkey/1.1a
No problem at all. And, unlike some earlier Netscapes or Mozilla, which ask me to select the Profile, even though it is entered in the Target line, this one showed the splash screen, and went directly into the mail.
    It works fine in NS8.0.3.

Thanks Westide - lets see if someone using same Seamonkey as I do has the problem..

    edit:

Must be something in the build I have, as it does the same thing in NS 8.
I had not tried that before...oh well.

    captjlddavis,

That is a Windows error, and using Google, have found this error happening in many programs. There are quite a few suggestions, depending on the program, but one of the suggestions, which sounds good to me, is to run Hijack This, and see what, if anything, you come up with. One suggestion was to upgrade the MS Virtual basic DLL file (msvbvm60.dll). I certainly don't recommend it tho, until you check with the Windows gurus on the Windows XP Forum.

I have no problems at all when making Seamonkey my default Mail Client, and opening in Firefox, either using Read Mail, or New Message ...
