I have just installed a new netgear router/modem as I am trying to set up wireless network between two home computers. Now when I try to access my emails through Outlook Express I get the following error message:

The server responded with an error. Account: 'mail1.eircom.net', Server: 'mail1.eircom.net', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR AVG POP3 Proxy Server: Cannot connect to the mail server!', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC90

Any ideas would be much appreciated.

AVG is my antivirus software, it is not a firewall. I don't think it is that that is causing the problem as I have tried disabling it, but still get the same message. Perhaps I have to change some settings on router configuration? I have written to manufacturers for help and will post if I get a reply.

    Cool,
I didn't think it was the router. They ushally do ok on outbound requests.
