    Thanks Gary,
I`ll double check the power supply voltage but I`m pretty sure it`s OK. I check with a voltmeter and that`s all I`ve ever used. If thats not good enough let me know.

I strongly suggest you invest $10 and get one of those small power supply testers. I got one at pcpowerandcooling.com. I'm thinking it must do more than simply test your voltage rails.

    Update on blank screen

Here`s the progress? to date. Got the new motherboard, installed it using the existing power supply, and CPU, ram, that was checked twice in a different computer, still no POST. everything seems OK fans run Indicating LEDs work as their supposed to. Took the power supply out of this machine I`m using now,300Watt plenty big enough, same results.
Guess what? I`ve got a new CPU ordered.
It dawned on me that maybe I`ve still got a good EPOX motherboard. I`ll get a cpu in one of these days that will work and might make another computer.
    Love it!!

    Installed and workinG!!

    Miraculous,
Installed the new processor, AMD 2800 333 Athlon XP, set the CMOS clock, boot from CD,seems like something else but can`t recall. The new CPU stated " tailored for XP ", I don`t think it even looked at the XP CD disk, went through it`s procedure and asked If I wanted to register and authenticate my XP which I did. I was all ready to run repair but evidently didn`t need to, Looks like everything is OK. S`pose I`ll find out.
Thanks to every one who stayed with me.
