Can't say for XP and Outlook but this works with 2000 and Outlook Express.

Do a search for .dbx on the old drive if working as slave. On your new drive in Outlook make folders with the exact same name without the .dbx. In other words just create the folders in outlook. Now do a search for .dbx on the new drive to get the location. Now just copy the .dbx files from the old drive to the location you found on the new drive.

On the favorites (bookmarks) just search for favorites on both drives to get the locations then copy from the old drive to the new. This works in 2000 with IE. For FF or netscape search for bookmarks.

Did that, no files found with .dbx?
If I knew where outlook stored its personal folders I could copy them to c/d and then re-introduce them to the new drive? thats a question.

    Then I tried *.dbx

Had a few of them but they were all Outlook express files

What I wanted was Outlook 2000 folders?
I expect there is a simple way?
I just have not found it yet.
    Quiz.

    Hi Quiz!

The Outlook storage files have the extension *.pst (Outlook.pst is the default file.) It is a data base file containing everything, including contacts.

In theory, yes, but you may be better off using the File > Import function, which I guess exists in Outlook as it does in Outlook Express. You should be able to follow the same route for your address book if such a thing exists in Outlook. You will gather that I do not use Outlook :)

For Internet Explorer Favourites and Cookies export them from your old copy - File > Import/Export to a location on your hard drive and then import them from the new setup.

I don't use Outlook myself, I only know the name of the file.

I would rename the new one Outlook.org and then drop the one You want to try in the same folder. If it doesn't work, you still have the original.
