Remote Assistance not working...

My friend and I are trying to use Remote Assistance through Windows Messenger and nothing happens. We wait for 10 minutes for the message to appear telling one of us to click yes or no but it never appears.

When I request it to him it works just fine, but when he trys to request it from me nothing happens at all. When it shows up in the window for me to accept or decline, I click accept and the next box never shows up. We don't even get any error messages, it acts as if nothing ever happened.

We both run Windows XP, and have all the updates needed or else he wouldn't be able to connect into my computer. We've both restarted our computers and turned off our firewalls. I don't know what else to do.

Any help/suggestions?

Is your friend running XP Pro or XP Home? Home can accept a remote assistance connection but cannot initiate one.

 

We're both running XP Home.
