I've been having a lot of weird problems with my computer lately. Namely, it's been extremely slow.

The computer doesn't move fast enough to keep up with the motions of my mouse. The cursor gets stuck on the screen for a moment and it can be a real problem.

Related to this is the "stuttering" of the audio. A few days ago, any song I played would come out smoothly, but now whenever I use Windows Media Player the song skips and slows down at random intervals, making it difficult to listen to a full song.

The only addition I made recently was installing a Bit Torrent program, but once the slowdown happened, I uninstalled it. I've also done a Spybot checker, a Virus scan, and a CCleaner check and I have no answer to the problem.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

PS: If need be, I can upload a sound-clip of the audio "stuttering" problem to explain what I mean.

with out pc specs, we won't know what you have as far as ram, operating system, cpu, etc, etc.

so, have you tried the basics like cleaning out the temp files, cookies, defrag, disc clean, disc scan, system restore clean, recycle bin cleaned out, un-nessecary files deleted, etc, etc.................??

maybe when you first downloaded and installed the bit torrent program, smething got messed up and deleted some important DLL's, or at the very least shifted them around.

give us more info on your pc, and any other programs you installed/deleted and forgot about telling us, as i'm sure there are files missing or corrupted.

I would say that something is running; and that it has a "highest" priority assigned; so that when it wants to use the processor, even the mouse and sound card have to wait.

I would agree with your initial guess of the bit torrent being the source of your problems. Although it is possible that it is your torrent client and that for some reason it has not fully uninstalled (say you removed the components which allow you to control it and to download; but not the part which lets the files you have downloaded so far be seeded out); I would be more worried that you have downloaded a trojan or worm and that your computer is being used as a zombie or spam source.

    Please download
    Mcafee stinger multivirus removal tool
    Install and run

    Spybot search and destroy
    Ad aware personal form Lavasoft
Install, update, run, check for problems , fix problems.
    A Squared trojan remover
Download, install, update, scan and fix.

It may also help to run Hijackthis and post a log file for analysis
    Hijackthis
Download, unzip and extract to a permanent folder of your creation such as C:\ProgramFiles\Hijackthis\Hijackthis.exe
Run and choose scan and save logfile. Copy the contents of the notepad window which opens and post it here.
