    Hello all,
When loading Windows XPPro upon bootup I get a window that says....
"ERROR loading fldrclnr.dll The specified module could not be found "

Where can I find out what fldrclnr.dll is and how to recover it???

Try runing System File Checker ....

Start > Run > sfc /scannow - note the space and have your XP CD handy. SFC will run and exit without any closing dialogue. To see which files, if any, have been replaced look in Event Viewer.

Great sleuthing Duchess :) - in which case System File Checker should fix the problem.

    Hello Duchess, Pete C, garybeafl,
Thank you for clearing up my question.

This system is on a computer I use at work...
Is this a function a company administrator might want disabled for some reason...?

Is this cleanup wizard something that someone can opt to NOT load during installation...or does it disappear somehow?

I am just trying to figure out why the message has appeared after the company installed a new system on the computer....bad installation or not installed on purpose...

It can be disabled via Display Properties > Desktop > Customise Desktop > General Tab > uncheck 'Run Desktop Cleanup Wizard every 60 days', but if disabled by this route would not give the message you see.

It is loaded by default, there is no option not to install this feature. Maybe a hiccup in the install??

    Solution

Reason: fldrclnr.dll is missing. Solution: just replace (or put..) this file with new one. You may find it on Windows XP Pro CD directory i386. The filename is fldrclnr.dl_, rename it and copy to system32 directory, it will work certainly!
If not, then find another pc and copy from there to directory windows/system32. Now your problem is solved!
