Run Antivirus from DOS?

    Hello
    Is there an free antivirus software that will run in dos mode. I was hoping to find one that would run from a usb thumbdrive and scan in dos mode.
    I have a great boot disk that supports usb drives. I want to be able to run an antivirus scan from this drive.
    Any help on this is greatly appreciated!

    F-Prot Antivirus for DOS will run on Windows up to 98 - I doubt you will find a DOS version for XP - XP does not have DOS, but uses instead a DOS emulator.

    Safemode?

    Is there a free antivirus that can be run from safemode from a usb memory stick without being installed on the pc?
