My "All Programs" list is too long and in multiple alphabets, despite telling the system to sort the entries.
Is there a program out there that will let me move and delete entries.
I know it can be done in the registry, and I have edited the registry a few times, but it is not a task I enjoy, escpecially if I have to change over 100 items.
I have seen utilities up the kazoo to edit the start menu, but none to edit "All Programs "
    Thanks

Start > Help and Support > type in add folder in start menu
and look for Add a submenu to the Start menu for a group of users.
It explains it pretty well there.

I agree with flatiro2, the best option is to create some new folders and organize things.

You could create a security folder and move all antivirus, antitrojan, antispyware , firewall etc into it.

You could create an internet folder for browsers, IM, email etc.

Create several folders and move things into them.

The simple method is to right click the start button and choose explore.
    That will open you to
    C:\Documents and Settings\Your account\Start Menu
Note the subfolder programs. That is what you select and where you put the new folders.(do this for programs installed only to your account and not to the all users)
I would do it in the all users startmenu so it affects every account.
    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs.

Then you can move program shortcuts to the folders just by dragging and dropping

Thanks. The 3 replies were very helpful. Now that I know where the menu items are stored, the rest is easy. A number of places I have seen in the past said you needed to deal with the registry, which is not fun.
