    I have tried the following boot.ini and I get the choices during startup and when I choose XP Pro, it boots just fine. However when I choose Server 2003, nothing happens. Any ideas? Below is my current boot.ini configuration.

    Thanks in advance! :)

    [boot loader]
    timeout=30
    default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
    [operating systems]
    multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS= "Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect
    multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(1)partition(1)\WINDOWS= "Microsoft Windows Server 2003" /fastdetect

    Yes, the os's are on seperate Hard Drives. Is the problem with the switches?
    I'm stumped on this one.

    Is the OS folder on the server drive called Winnt instead of windows?

    Understanding the boot.ini naming convention

    I doubt you need this, but it is suggested reading.

    Are the drives on the same adapter (multi(0)) (would also change this if they are on seperate adaptersrdisk(1)) ?

    According to my understanding, Multi identifies the type of disk controller being used by the system. Multi is used by IDE controllers and SCSI adapters that use the SCSI BIOS. scsi(w) option is used by SCSI adapters that don't use the SCSI BIOS. Multi(w) w=the hardware adapter your booting from. In my case it's the (0) which I'm thinking is the Primary adapter.

    No, the OS folder for the Server 03 is called "Windows ".

    Did you load XP first and then 2K3?

    Have you tried the 2K3 recovery console and fixboot? If you loaded 2K3 first and then XP, it is probably about the only good way to fix things.
