I read Ramona's posting:Importing Netscape 7 / Mozilla Mail into Outlook Express, or Outlook.

"Paste the files without the MSF extensions into the Communicator Mail Folder "

How do I past the files as instructed?
    Thanks,
    Rob

I did not check the reference, since you did not give a link, but, typically, one does this: right click|Copy on the file in question, let's say :Inbox, in the NS7 profiles|.slt|Mail|mail account, then go to the Communicator Users profile|mail account, and right click|paste.
If the Communicator mail was up and running, it is recommend that you right click|Copy, and paste in the same folder, the right click|rename to anything you want, other than the original filename. Then right click the renamed file|copy, and paste,as I said before.
Why? If you are still using NS4.x, and don't copy the original file, you don't have an active file. Renaming will assure you that nothing will be overwritten.
Remember that all Netscapes must be closed, and that you worked from the Windows Explorer. And, of course, you will need Communicator, i.e. 4.x, as intermediary, since Outlook and Outlook express have ignored NS7.

    Netscape 4.x to OE

    http://www.WindowsBBS.com/showthread.php?postid=255762#post255762

From this I have gotten the emails from Netscape 7.0 to 4.x, but have not been able to get them into Outlook Express. The plan is to go from one HD to another with all of the information needed. Any suggestions as to what browser? Am considering the new TB, or Outlook, both have been recommended.
    Thanks again,
    Rob Allen

    Rob,
Thunderbird is closely related to the Netscapes. The Microsoft stuff is not, but it can import mail from NS4.x. Then, you do File|Import, in Outlook Express. You have a number of choices. Once you have you mail in OE, you can get it into Outlook. I don't have Outlook, but it does not come free, AFAIK, while Thunderbird is free. You should be able to import all you want when you first set it up.

    Rob,

What browser do you plan on using? You might want to consider Firefox as your standalone browser.

Importing Netscape 7 / Mozilla info into Outlook Express

Hi Ramona, I have gotten the email from Net.7 into Net 4 into OE. Next came the address book and bookmarks. Not sure of which files & location to be copied and moved.
As to the browser, I am open. I like simple and reliable.
Thank you for all of your help. If these issues have been covered, I have not been able to find them. Also, how do I access the Cherokee site?

    Rob,
in my message #4, as reply to your previous question, I told you how to do it. Go into OE, and Select File|Import.
    Try this for Ramona's website
By the way, the link which you gave points to the same thread which is being used now.

    Rob,

You might also take a look at this page: Create a New Profile. It lists the files to copy, and those which should not be copied.
