    Hi,
Is there a way to comment out an entry in Thunderbird Address Book? I have coworkers that leave for month(s) and do not wish to get email during that time. Rather than delete their address book entry along with the entries in a distribution list that they are in, I would like to comment out their entry in the address book. I have tried inserting an asterick before their last name and that did not work. Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Ken

    Ken,
can you do this other mail clients? I had read and reread your post, and, if I understood it correctly, you want to have a list, with some individual on a on/off way, for certain periods of time. Let me know if some mail client has such capability, because I don't know about it.
I have two or three mailing lists for different purposes. I feel that it is simpler to have that, than on/off switches.

Just to clairfy.... What I would like to do is leave an address entry in an address book but it would not be usable, e.g., in distribution lists that I use. So I was asking if that function is available in Thunderbird. The function maybe referred to as Comment or Ignore this entry.

I have only used Netscape, Mozilla and Thunderbird and I did a check on Help and couldn't find anything so I thought I would ask. Maybe there is not a function like that available.

    Thanks,
    Ken

    Ken,

Other than the obvious, I haven't been able to accomplish what you wish to do.

I have asked our resident Address Book guru to take a stab at your problem (captjlddavis). If he comes up with something I'm sure he will post it here on the Forum.
