    Hi Folks,
Does anyone know if the bare bones Netscape Navigator 4.08 is compatible with Windows XP Home Edition?
On the Netscape Web Site they just list Windows 95, 98, NT and 2000.
    Thanks

    Hi jslow,

Windows 95, 98, NT and 2000, is the official support, and unofficially, the Windows XP recommendations I've seen are for Netscape Communicator 4.79.

Another XP/Netscape user may be able to give you more information about the compatibility of the two (XP and 4.08).

    Ramona :D

I can give you some guide lines.

Netscape 4.72 does not run very well under Windows 2000 (needs some tweaking during installation)

Windows XP is based on Win2000 and Netscape starts to officially support Windows 2000 from (about) 4.76.

However, since Netscape 4.08 is an Win 32bit application, it should run under Windows XP. (you might have some small problems.)

I have Netscape 4.79 installed under Win XP, and works perfectly. (The only tiny minor issue I have is the user agent shows Win2000 instead.)
