    Hi,

At this moment, I use Nero Burning ROM to make a Video CD. But lately, I have a problem with Nero since I change the CD-R/W drive. My latest CD-R/W is Samsung TSST corp CD-R/RW TS-H292A. (Is it Toshiba or Samsung?). I did uninstall Nero, reboot the system and then reinstall Nero. But the problem remain. So, I'm looking for other than Nero burning softwares to make a video CD, especially the simpler ones. I prefer a freewares, if any. But commercial softwares is OK, too.

I tried to search the web for such proggies using Google, but the result is not satisfying. Maybe because my keywords is not correct?

Any suggestions for the softwares I'm looking for?

    TIA,

    Hushni

I use Nero 6 extensively for both DVD and CD and have never had a problem with it at all. Can you explaine the problem you're having?

Since this problem started when you changed drives and Nero was fine before that I would double check that the master/slave jumper is correct. It sounds a bit to me like the new drive might be set to cable select and another drive on the channel might not be. If you have a CDROM and a Burner on the same cable set the burner to master and the ROM to slave. If just the one drive and a hard drive on the same cable set the hard drive to master and the burner to slave. If all you have is one hard drive and the burner put each on it's one channel with both set to master. Your description of the problem sounds, to me, like a hardware conflict rather than software.

Also, if you are running windows XP make sure that you have the built in burning software turned off.

Well, everything is ok now. Just wondering why the speed choice now so limited, starting from 8X, 16X and so on up to 52X. While, the same device on other PC show the speed starting from 1X, 2X, 4X, 8X and so on up to 52X. Any solution?

Sorry for posting twice in the last reply. When I clicked Submit reply and it's on the process, I lost the connection. Several minutes later I can reconnect and then clicked Reload the page. But, the posting shows twice.

Thank you very much for any kind support so far. This is a great board I ever subscribe.

    Cheers,

    Hushni

Glad it worked out for you! :)

As far as the differences in speeds... If you used different CDs it could be that some CDs don't support all speeds and some do.

Did you buy this copy of Nero , or did it come with a specific drive?
Often an OEM version supplied with a specific drive will check to see if that drive is installed. If not, it won't function. So when you replaced the drive, the OEM Nero which came with it no longer is valid (you would have to have both drives installed to allow it to work on the other drive).
