My comptuer crashed or was going south. I was able to do a back up or a copy of everything before it died. I DL Netscape and installed it. However i cant find the folder " USERS " in the new copy / download. I do have it from my old program. It contains all my preferences. I was running win98SE Ive upgraded to XP PROFESSIONAL. Thanks, Hammy

    Welcome to the Forum, Hammy_tn!

    Hammy_tn,

Did you install Netscape Communicator 4.xx, or Netscape 7.xx? If you installed Netscape Communicator 4.x, it will be located in:
    C:\Program Files\Netscape\Users

If Netscape 7.xx, it will be located in:
    C:\Documents and Settings\user_name\Application Data\Mozilla\Profiles
NOTE: These files are hidden by default.
    To see hidden files:
    1. On the Tools menu in Windows Explorer, click Folder Options
    2. Click the View tab
    3. Under Hidden files and folders, click Show hidden files and folders
    4. Disable "Hide File Extensions for Known Files. "
    5. Click OK.

  3. to hide this advert.

Ramona has a good writeup on getting profile info from pc to pc or OS to OS, or both.
Win XP has a different set up , but the NS7.2 profiles were never in the Users folder. That's why Ramona asked you which NS you were trying to use.
