I have Win98 SE with Internet Exp. 6.0. Whenever I open a second window or I click on a link that opens a second window it opens in a very small size. I try to enlarge it by pulling on the corners but when I close it and reopen another one it opens in the same small size. How can I get a second window to open in a size that I like and then stay that way? Thank you in advance for any help.

Try holding down the ctrl key when you close the window. If that doesn't do it, close the window while pressing the ctrl key and then close the original window. Then give it a try.

Yes , generally this is the method to resize a normal window.
By default , you can change how the first window opens (Minimized, maximized, normal) by right click on the shortcut and choose properties and under run change it to what you want. In IE this first window is called a parent.
But by default IE opens all secondary (called a daughter) windows to the normal size.
To resize normal either change the parent window to open to normal and resize it by dragging the edges, or open a parent set to launch maximimzed, click a link to launch a daughter and close the parent , resize the daugheter and then close it.

It is also best at this point to restart windows to ensure these new settings are saved to the registry. In theory this is not necessary in XP, since the registry is updated on the fly and the hiv file entry gets updated when you close windows (saving settings) . However, since if you use somethign which restores the previous setting prior to your restarting the hiv file is not updated; it is always best to just restart like you had to do with win98 and ME.

IE New Window Maximizer works for me whereas the other methods were not reliable. No mention, that I could find. as to OS required.
