    Gentle people,
Having all sorts of probs on my main machine I replaced (for the third time) the mainboard. This time a different brand. Well, everything worked as expected - had to install lots of new hardware for the new mainboard in my Win2000 Pro and thought everything is OK. This was not the case as I learned when installing the integrated NW adapter for my home network. An error message popped up telling me that address 192.168.0.1 is already in use for the (non existing) integrated NW adapter of the old mainboard. After some fiddling I found out there are "hidden" devices in Win2000, many of them not distinguishable from the active ones. But I'd like to clean out the old ones and have no idea which one to delete. All of them? And run the whole setup again?? None of them??? And live with a "dirty" machine???? Or forget about all of it and start anew????? Any ideas will be welcome!

    Kind regards,
    e.g.gru

N.B: The system basically works clean as a bell! No actual problem!!

    Hidden devices

If you clean all the system will install them again! No problem with that.
Do a scan for hardware changes.
