    hi everyone...

im trying to configure two new domains, both running windows server 2003 standard edition (sp1) i have configured DNS (primary forward look ups and secondary forward lookups) and the appropriate trusts properly (two way external trusts.) I can log in to each from the other domain fine using termincal services but i cannot get the domains to be displayed in network places.
Are there some extra things I need to configure before this works?

Im pretty sure everything is set up right as i can ping both domains using their netBIOS names only.

If i go to run and type in the domain name e.g \\domain.local i can access the shares on the domain that way. However this only works for one domain, if i try it for the second domain e.g. \\domain2.local i get the error "\\domain2.local is not accessable, you might not have permissions to access this network resources contact the administrator blah blah blah, the network path was not found" So could this be a permissions problems and if so where do i configure the appropriate permissions?

Any help would be great! thanks.

DNSLint might be helpful in diagnosing the problem since it does sound like you have some replication issues.

Any event log errors on any of the DCs that give useful detail?

DNSLint didnt provide to much help but thanks anyway.
There are not errors in event log that give me much of an idea either..

however now when i go to run and type in \\doamin2.local (the one that previously didnt work) im greeted with a "Enter username and password" box and no user name or password that i enter will allow it to work....

werid considering i havent changed anything!

The domains are on the same network? Can you reach the servers?
    Do you have any policies?
When we browse the list in "My Network Places ", we get the list from the
domain master browser. The list may be incomplete. Actually, it is caused by the delay of the list replication between master browser and domain master browser. If we click the computer in the browse list, it will use DNS name to query the computer.

The domains are on the same network, different forests however.
Yes i can reach the servers by other methods. i have fixed it so i can go to run and type the server name e.g \\server and i can access the servers from all locations
