cant access old desktop ?

Hi guys new here had a good look around the net and i rekon u guys can help solve my prob

my main c:\ refused to boot after a reboot the other day so i have put pro on my second hard disk and am running from there at the mo

the c:\ which wouldnt boot has a controler problem from the looks of seagates test software , so i cant boot from it at all , BUT i do have acces to it as a slave

i need to be able to get to my old desktop BUT i cant ....al i get is acces denied ??? , prolly an easy one for the experts here to sort but i`m blowed if i can find an answer for myself on the net

i should have put that both discs my new and old are ntfs xp pro

thats exactly what i had to do , i didnt realise it was called "taking ownership" no wonder my searches all came back useless
