I just upgraded my Dell Dimension 3000 to XP pro. It had XP Media Center on it before. I have it installed, but now I can't get on it because I don't have the proper drivers installed. The picture is in a resolution of about 640x480, and I can't connect to my broadband ISP.

I can't find any driver discs, the only CDs that they gave me were Wordperfect, Monitor Documentation, and the drivers for modems.

    Any help? Thanks.

Go to Dell's web site - support section. Use your Sevice Tag number and you can get the exact drivers for your machine.

enter the service tag on the side of your tower using someone else's computer.
bring a disc and burn all the drivers you need by downloading them off dell's site. when you put the tag in at dell's support page you choose the dowloads section and simply click around for what you need.
bring the disc home and install all the drivers to a dell folder on your pc. (create it)
go into the device manager and right click the unknown devices. click update driver and make sure it searches in the newly created dell folder you just made, for a driver.

This underlines the need to be sure you have all necessary drivers before upgrading to XP. It uses different drivers than 98/ME.

Yes, but in this case the user did have another version of XP installed. Problem here are the drivers for (proprietary) hardware.

Also, I'd like to know what possibly could be the benefit of XP Pro over XP MCE?
