I cannot seem to get any signal from the mich input on the PC. Have tested the mich on other machines. Playback is fine but when I run audio checks i am told that windows cannot detect any input. Have checked mixers etc for recording. Any clues on what else I could check or try. Done the usual checks, correct sockets, mixer etc.

I have been trying to install SKYPE on this machine. Have had great success with SKYPE on another machine but this one does not want to play. Audio checks on SKYPE, MSN messenger, sound recorder all report no audio detected.

Any clues of what to try next would be appreciated. Thanks
    Mike

I had a similar problem on a PC once. The problem was that the port indicated in the manual as being the microphone port was wrong. I tried a different port and then it worked. Try a different port.

It's possible that the sound card in that computer is broke. Try putting a different sound card in.
