    Hi!
    I am using windows XP Professional (oem) (non-mediaplayer version, thanks EU! :) ) with all the latest security updates and patches. Gif animations used to work well on my machine (AMD Athlon 64 3700+ with 1024 mb of ddr ram), but now when I save an gif animation to my HD (Through firefox and IE, I have tried both), it saves only the first frame of it, and it doesn't animate in the web browser. Old gifs work just fine, and I use IrfanView to look at all my images. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program too, but this irritating problem still exsists.

    I use Firefox for web browsing, and recently another problem came up: when I go to a website, like http://www.airsoft.fi , I see only the "broken image" picture where there should be a button or an image or logo... the same problem exists within IE, and the imahes are in .jpg format. The problem isn't the website though, it works fine on my friend's computer.

    So because of all this, I'm guessing it's a problem with some of my windows settings. I have read the previous topic about gif animations not playing in IE 6. All my settings in Firefox and IE are fine, and I can't find any settings for images or anything suggesting towards it.

    Any suggestions?

    [EDIT] Forgot to add, I haven't activated my copy of xp yet, but I guess that has nothing to do with the problem...

    start->run->
    Code:
    sfc /scannow
    OK and see if things are back to normal after the System File Checker finishes.

    Well, I tried it but it didn't work. I have no idea what could be causing this...
