This may be another of those questions with an oh so obvious answer so please forgive me if that's the case, it's just that I'm baffled. Yesterday I upgraded to Firefox 1.0.6 and other than a few annoyances like some of my fave extensions not being compatible, it mostly went okay. This afternoon I pressed the blue arrow that indicted updates were availbale for extensions I have running, all seemed okay unitl this evening I realise I have no right click menu appearing where I used to have -- copy, paste, open link in a new window etx and web developer tools too. Now there is nothing. Is there a preference somewhere that needs setting? I have another profile I created for another user of this machine - right click is working fine in their profile. It's sooo frustraing being inept. I use Windows 98 is that's important...Any help would be most appreciated. I di do a search at Mozilla to no avail. :)

Curiously, I just did a double check - right click works on this page, on another I tried but in the majority not.

    Lorraine,
I am having a problem finding out where the right click is not operational. I never saw any blue arrow, in first place, but I went directly to my Options|Advanced| Check for updates. I was told that one update was available. I, probably, lost my chance there, as I let FF download and install the extention. You probably wanted to download the extention to the desktop.
So, can you give a website or whatever of the majority that don't work?
I have seven tabs in FF1.0.6, including this website, sillydog.or forum, Cox.net for Omaha (my ISP), ibiblio.org (a tremendous website from the U.of North Carolina), PC World.com, Ramona's Netscape solutions, and a site which should be interesting to everyone who can understand the English language i.e. the US Library of Congress' site . I have a right click with all of them.
Give even one example of what doesn't work with your FF, and works with the other one.

Hi Westside. The blue arrow is in the top right hand corner on the theme I use - the Firefox default - Gerich and Horlander. What I've noticed with the right click thing is for instance in this forum I can right click say to cut and paste in the post form but once posted I can't right click the forum page at all.

    http://www.bigredhair.com/boilerplate/soldier/bp.teddy.html - Doesn't work on this site.

    I'm still perplexed.

I think I've solved it- well at least for now. Went through my extensions and uninstalled Mouse Gestures. Seems to have resolved the problem. :)

    Loraine,
whenever in doubt, uninstall extentions. Some can give you crazy.
But, on the other hand, extentions don't work in new version. This has been going on since Firefox, and extentions began.

Thanks Westside, I think because the extensions were automatically updated I assumed they were okay. Upon upgrading some of course were labelled not compatible including my fave double click to close a tab. Never mind! I'm very much still a learner and it's reassuring to be able to bounce a problem around in here. Thanks. :)

I just made a gesture towards my monitor, symbolically directed towards that extension. :)

Mailman, thanks for the "symbolic" support, I found myself making a few gestures too! Glad to report all still functioning as it should and I think I probably picked up a few hints and tips along the way. Any change - even change for the better takes a little getting used to. :)
