I have read the post on the "Limited or no Connectivity" but am not sure if it really applies to me. I have not done much with networking before and in cases before i have had no trouble so havent had to research. Anyway, i am being told by my computer that "The problem occoured because the network did not assign a network address to the computer ". Anyone know how to fix this? The internet worked when i installed the wireless card, but then i had to reboot (installing other drivers as i just built this PC and got it going) and now refuses to work, just gives me the "Limited or no connectivity" thing.

    ahh, forgot. My hardware is:
    Router: Belkin 54G (model, F5D7230uk4)
    Wireless card: Gigabyte GN-WPKG

I am currently connected via my wireless network on a laptop (so the network does work), just trying to get my new PC on the same network.

Seemed to be conflicting with my laptop?? Works fine when my laptop's wireless is disabled.

If you have given your laptop and PC static IP addresses they must NOT be the same.
If you have both the laptop and PC set up to "obtain IP address" then make sure
that ON the router you have DHCP " enabled" and set to 3 or more clients. Post back with results, thanks.

I'm sorry, how do i make the Laptop and PC "Obtain IP Addresses" as i say i heve never really dabbled in networking before. I will look into my router manual to see if DHCP is enabled. I'll get back to you when i've done that.

Ok, went onto my router interface and found that DCHP is enabled.
How do you do this obtain IP address thing?

Router DHCP enabled; make sure it is set for at least one more than the # of machines connected, (not just wireless) if it's 2 machines should be set for 3 or more.
    To set obtain ip address:
right clik on wireless icon (lower right on taskbar) choose "open network connections" > right clik on your wireless adapter>properties>scroll down to "Internet Protocol TCP/IP ", highlite and then clik properties button. Make sure obtain an IP address and obtain DNS server are both checked>clik OK
If there is still a problem:
1- What OS are you using XP Pro? or Home?
    2- SP1 or SP2?
3- While in Network Connnections window are any of your connections
    "bridged "?
4- On the problem machine, Start>run>cmd>OK>type in
"ipconfig /all > c:\config.txt" (without the quotes) then copy and paste the contents of config.txt into your post here.

If any of this is confusing I apologise, it's late ;-)
