When reading some older Firefox threads on the MozillaZine Forum, I learned about an amazing college poster that Firefox had planned to use for promotion. The poster is a photo of someone's jeans back pocket with a condom peeking out.

The project was pulled due to concerns that it would be offensive to some. At the time of writing (March 2005) there was talk of reviving the project.

Here is the poster: Always Use Protection

    What do you think?

I like it! What's wrong with that? It's far more tasteful than most of the TV shows, not to mention some of the Rock shows that are running around.

If you lose your sense of humour, what else is left?

Hummmm, I never used that brand, can u blow it up like a balloon, can u fill it
with water and drop it from a rooftop, I know it will protect a rifle barrel from
rain. And lastly, is it editable?

I see nothing wrong with the poster.

I'm not that easily offended--- but I think someone needs to revive their marketing skills. I don't think it is very clever, and is rather boring. Relating computer viruses with unprotected sex is stupid. What brain were they thinking with anyway?

I'd like to sayd this is a very good smart advertising.

It captures the interests of university/college students, while leaving room for imagination.
I have to agree some viewers may found this offensive, but it's just like recent trend of advertisements (on TV and on billboards) featuring sex-related or gay-related message. Of course, the acceptance is varying in different countries and cultures.

    Just my two cents.

    protection ...eh?

Like I tell my kids ... the best protection is abstinence.
Turn off your computer and go read a book.
