    Xp Home, SP2.

Xp takes longer to bootup on this system. Previous sys (also XP, Home, SP2)
seemed to boot up much faster and didnt show the welcome screen and didnt
    need a login at all.
Is there a way to get this system to do the same?

Right now there is an autologon (somewhere) that is logging me onto the
system. I think its using the Owner account. How can i find out what the
passwords are for Administrator and the Administrator SAVAGCL and Owner
accounts? I would like to record (or memorize) these passwords.

This is a new area of XP for me
    thanks,
    savagcl

To see what user account was used to log on, open a cmd prompt, type Set, and press Enter.

If you built the PC and didn't give passwords, chances are the accounts are using a blank. Otherwise you are sorta out of luck since you need to know the current password to be able to make a change.

As noted in the forum Posting Rules #6 "Missing or Invalid Passwords or Product Keys * - We follow Microsoft's Policy regarding missing or invalid passwords here; meaning that we can't help you, and don't want this information to be posted here. This also applies to Content Advisor Configuration Information and Product Keys. "

savagcl - please understand that I do not think you had any intention of violating rule #6. The warning/reminder was mainly to keep some other person who didn't really read the rules when he/she signed up and might post stuff we'd have to remove. Old timers don't tend to do that sort of thing but helpful new users do and get embarassed when it's pointed out to them.

    NEWT,

Thanks for reminding me of the rule. Sometimes things do get past me and i
forget. Sorry for the posting all togeather. Guess it wouldnt hurt for me to
    re-read the rules occasionally.

I didnt build the sys and it just auto-logsin, but thats ok, i'll do some digging on
    my own.

Didnt know about the "SET" command so thats a good starting point.

Thanks, NEWT, and i'll remember next time (even if i have to put a pasty on the
    monitor). :)
