office 2000, can't uninstall

    :confused: running windows me, ie6 sp1. trying to get rid of office 2000. i get this message. this patch package could not be opened. verify that the patch package exists and that you can access it.contact the vendor to verify that this is a valid windows installer package. office was installed from a disk. just want to uninstall. would be happy for any help.

    Sometimes if a software package won't uninstall it's because the install or I should say uninstall information has somehow been lost. It is possible that if you do a reinstall of the program that you will then be able to uninstall it. I know this sounds strange and all but sometimes it works.

    microsoft offic, can't uninstall

    :) thank you for the link arie. i will chek it out today. i think i probably have some files from word 97 still on my system.
