Forgive the strange question, but when seeking technical advice from Epson about non-working scanning software, they asked whether I had popups blocked. Since I didn't know this could be done, I doubt it, but how would I find out and if they are blocked, un-block them?

I've uploaded a screenshot to demonstrate what I mean: http://img260.imageshack.us/my.php?image=faultypopup3fe.jpg

The middle icon of a fax machine is an instance of a "scan to fax" event. Hovering over it shows the text Winfax Pro Send but actually clicking on it does nothing. This is also what happens when I try to use Epson Smart Panel to scan - the window "opens" on my taskbar but clicking on it doesn't take me there. I've had to start using VueScan to scan images for months now.

I have possibly tweaked something inadvertently in Tweaking Toolbox without knowing it.

I'd be grateful anyone knows what I'm talking about and can suggest a way to get these windows to actually open.

If you have IE as your default browser, any HTML window that opens may be affected by the popup blocker. If you have SP2 installed, open IE and look under "Tools ". There you can inactivate its internal blocker.

You will have to look around to see what other popup blockers you may have. Have you added any toolbars to your browser that may include a blocker? Do you have any applications running in the tray that might have such functionality?

Thanks for replying Abraxas. Netscape is my default browser. However, I do also have Maxthon and IE installed and while I have ensured popups are allowed, I'll look into the options again.
