Moving everything to a New Puter - planning on using Internet Explorer and Outlook Express 6.0 as primary browser & E-mail.

    Once I set up IE and OE and import my Favorites and current OE E-mail files onto the new puter;
is there any way to export or copy & move the OLD NetScape E-mail messages into the new Outlook Express?

If I have to, I'll load another NetScape onto the new puter and then copy the NetScape e-mails into the NetScape E-mail ...
but it would be SO Nice if there's a way to slip the NetScape e-mails into Outlook Express ... any chance of doing it??

    New System = PC Pentiun 4 + Windows XP(home) + Internet Explorer
    Old System = PC Pentium MMX + Win98se + IE6.0 and NetScapes 4.79 & 7.02

THANKS for any ideas & suggestions!!

    In Outlook Express ....

File > Import Messages and scroll down to Netscape Communicator/Netscape Mail.

You will need to copy your Netscape emails to the new computer or to CD - no idea how - I have not used Netscape.

SOME of this "works ", Pete!! ;)

Inet Explorer DID import the NetScape Bookmarks into IE Favorites!
Inet Explorer DID import the NetScape Address Book and merged it into IE!

As for the E-mails - only partial success...
I first tried asking IE to import mail from NS 7.02 -
IE was all happy to help with the import wizard - but got *stoopid* and wanted ME to point the wizard to "the files" I wanted imported ...
And NS 7.02 has no "Mail EXport" routine.

So I tried asking NS 7.02 to "Import Mail" from NS 4.79 ...
NS 7.02 got right into that ... lotta disc spinnin later - up popped the WHOLE assortment of old NS 4.79 e-mails in their own folders in 7.02. :D
(Shudda thrown the junk out BEFORE I did that move ... but Oh Well.)

So the Big Question remains *HOW* to "export" the NS 7.02 mail folders into
a form that IE can "Import ".

Hopefully SOMEbudy has done this and will junp in with some *pointers*.
