    Hi,
I installed XP Pro on a new hard disc when my old Win 2000 Pro system disc began to fail. I installed now Netscape 7,1 and it worked. When I transferred the old data on to the new disc- I followed the instructions given in a previous thread by copying the entire old profile folder into the new Mozilla-
my 3 accounts appear in the sidebar on the left but with no data, no subfiles and no files like sent, trash etc. I am also unable to receive or send mail.
I have installed and uninstalled many times with the same result.
Adressbook and bookmarks appear to have been correctly transferred.
How do I get to my old emails and settings. I am desperate and at the end of my wits. Please help me!!!!!

    Welcome to the Forum, Mile!

    Mile,

Netscape Mail may not be pointing to the correct location on your HDD for the Mail. Open Windows Explorer (after exiting Netscape) and browse to your mail account folders, located here:
    C:\Documents and Settings\user_name\Application Data\Mozilla\Profiles\profilename\*.slt\Mail\pop.isp.net

If there is more than one mail account folder, and contains a digit, e.g., pop.isp-1.net then that is most likely your problem. Open the Inbox in both folders to determine which account actually contains your mail. Once you have determined the correct folder then:

Open Mail & Newsgroups, and click on:
Edit | Mail & Newsgroups Account Settings | Server Settings

Scroll to the bottom of the window to the "Local directory" field
There you will see the path to your mail account folder:
Ensure that this path is correct. If not, then click on the "Browse" tab and navigate to the folder which does contain your mail.

Follow the same procedure for each of your three mail accounts.

BTW, uninstalling and reinstalling does nothing, as Mail is in your Profile. The Profile is untouched by the uninstall...
