When I connect to the internet, a small box has started appearing with the heading 'MailReg - 10061' It's message is "Connection is forcefully rejected ". I click 'ok' and it goes away and I don't have any problems on line.
I have recently downloaded a programme called 'OnSpeed' to speed up my downloads (brilliant, by the way: no broadband in rural Ireland). Could it have something to do with that?
    Thanks for any help

Try changing your homepage and see if that helps.

    Sadly - that didn't work.
Is the fact that I am getting this message in any way prejudicing my computer? I mean, it's not really a big deal to click on 'OK' and the window goes away. And what is 'MailReg' anyway? First time I ever heard of it - but that's not entirely surprising!!!! :D

Lady Mitch, do a search on Google for "MailReg - 10061 ". There is some info on it there, didn't look into it but may be of some help.

Sorry to have taken so long to get round to this, but haven't had a chance. When I first saw your advice I 'Googled' and got a response. Have just done the same again, and nothing.
    Strange.
Any more advice would be very welcome

Here's a direct link to a patch to fix the error when using Netscape. It seems that the "fix" also works for Internet Explorer. I'm not sure if it really fixes the problem but it does stop the annoying error message.

    http://netscape.ibs.aol.com/patches/turn-off-mlreg.exe

    Hope this helps!

    :) :)
    You're a genius. That's done the job!!
As I don't know what the problem was, and as the annoying box has disappeared, 100% success.
    Thank you so, so much
