Hi ... I'm curious to know how many have exchange Windows XP Professional (32-bit) for Windows XP Professional x64 Edition ? Also does anyone know if there a list as to which hardware/software are not supported with x64 ? TIA

Some info on hardware here under Windows Marketplace. I think it's more a question of whether or not 64 bit drivers are available for your hardware - that is easily checked out on the manufacturer's website.

Coincidentally I have just loaded XP Pro x64 as a dual boot system on my desktop running an AMD 64 3500+.

The install ran through without a hitch, but, as I hinted at previously there were some software/hardware problems.

    In no particular order ....

64 bit drivers are available for the Matrox G550 graphics card and seem to be working OK including dual monitors.

There appear to be no 64 bit drivers for my Iiyama Vision Master Pro 513 monitor - the 32bit version will not install. Although this is not a real problem as I shall not be doing any digital imaging on this OS - question of would Photoshop run on 64 bit? plus the problem of activation as my copy is already loaded to the 2 permitted computers. I have emailed Iiyama.

I cannot connect to the Internet from this OS as the 64 bit drivers for my ADSL modem are not yet available.

Surprisingly my old HP Deskjet 520 installed without a murmur - I have yet to investigate installing either my Epson 1270 or 1290.

There appear to be no 64 bit drivers for my Canon Lide 35 flatbed - I have emailed Canon.

The only compatible freeware antivirus program I could find was Avast - manual updates will be necessary.

I have not tried to install Kerio as yet - with ZoneAlarm as an alternate, but with no Internet connection this should not be a problem - Windows firewall is running.

Other items that are connected like the Wacom Tablet & Nikon Coolscan IV film scanner I shall not bother with. This install is really only for test purposes with beta testing of 64 bit software in mind.

I think my overall reaction to x64 is don't bother with it just now - many software companies - particularly antivirus, are saying 2006 before they will have an offering - just in time for the 64 bit version of Vista (Longhorn) :)
